Your guided tour will include a visit to:
- Palatine Hill
Here it all started. In Rome, the line between myth and historical reality is very thin. According to mythology, the twins Romulus and Remus, abandoned on the hill and suckled by a she-wolf, were found by a shepherd and guided by the founding of Rome. Over a hundred years ago the archaeologist Rodolfo Lanciani made excavations on the hill and discovered the remains of an Iron Age settlement dating back to the ninth century BC, giving basis for the existence of the first founders of Rome.
An imperial park named because it was built on the site where once stood the Colossus of Nero, a golden statue of the emperor in bronze and 33 m high. Imagine the days of celebration and reflect on the inequities of Roman society and the fate of the players in the sport imperial.
- Roman forum
Once the heart of the ancient world, full of people from all corners of the empire and now reduced to rubble. Hence the Romans transformed civilization forever.
